I reckon the second as the first can be entangled into the second whilst still having a focus point and tangents of different critical theories and points.
eg.
They need TAILORING.
-Popular culture-hierarchy of power.
-Self regulation to taste of superstructure in art and design
-minority taste is revolt from superstructure taste. There is no superstructure without rebellion.
-Are the minorities just docile bodies from the superstructure and their ideals of current taste-but then surely therefore the superstructure indirectly dictate minority taste too
-Are all 'new' things just a repeat?-'listened too for us'.
-what is originality/individualism and does originality exist?
...might be a good stepping stone to the DISSERTATION
